In light of the White House's new tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, the nation's builders have come out in heavy opposition, claiming these tariffs will translate into higher costs for consumers and U.S. businesses, resulting in more affordability issues. Builders are already facing many other problems, including rising land and labor costs, higher lumber costs, and an increasing housing demand that they can't keep up with.
